Green Street (2005)
A film starring Big Ron himself. Well. I was in the ground when some of the real footage was being recorded so it counts.
Yes I go and watch this average football team week in week out.
A terrible movie that glorifies the football violence that is thankfully very rare nowadays. You’re more likely to get a burger, a kebab, a bag of sweets and a scarf than be head-butted by a rival fan on Green Street (unless we’re playing Millwall, when you might).
I think this is bad, really bad but lots of people seem to like it.
The main guy is from Newcastle and sounds about as cockney as Dick Van Dyke in Mary Poppins. Frodo is particularly unconvincing as a Firm member and the whole thing is held together with a shoddy plot, terrible acting, woeful fight action and as eluded to above is factually bollocks.
Mockney shit. Racist, disrespectful and embarrassing to West Ham fans. This makes Football Factory look like Raging Bull (now you wont hear me say that about a Nick Love film very often).
"More like the Israelis and the Palestinians".
“You don’t run, not when you’re with us… You stand your ground and fight!”
“Bov’s a miserable cunt, but we love him dearly don’t we boys?”
“See, West Ham football is mediocre. But our firm is top-notch, and everyone knows it. The GSE: Green Street Elite.”
